at first i was diggin some stuff i was seeing.. but then i noticed that there seems to be a dozen or so vector artists doing all the same type of work.. black trees with lots in concentrically set circles in bright vivid colors. gotta love trendy followers... even in art. copying someone else's style and calling it your own. and its too bad, cause i really dug some of the pieces i saw but i have no idea whose creativity to appreciate. Now that is not to say it is BAD to be influenced by someone else's work. NO one is an island and any artist is going to be influenced in some manner. so I admit it.. i have a life problem.. or an anti-life problem. I let life get down on me and the first thing to go is usually the thing i need the most.. namely making 'something' 'anything' at all. so i haven't posted, commented or even really given a fuck about anything DA for quite sometime. Hell i haven't made much of any vector work or even just picked up a pencil and drawn in about 4 months. i am a horrible horrible man. the good news of course is that i am on the up slope now. I actually am thinking of ideas and submitting some work from last semester in college. (7 classes left.. thank god) I even did some large scale vector piece

It is too bad that the two 'styles' of work that i am most tired of are the two styles of work that seem to be the most prevalant on DA. namely gothic art & photography and anime based art. If i see that damn image of a tongue with a syringe through it filled with blood one more time, i am going to scream. The whole concept behind the gothic photography on here is so overplay it is disgusting. How many more picture of pale girls dressed in black in a cemetary/with blood/with a weapon/looking suicidal do we need anyways? and i have never been a big fan of anime fan-art.
